Pigdragon is the husband and wife team Nigel and Cynthia Le Page, from south west England.

The couple met when Nigel was looking for a female singer for a new recording project, and they have been together ever since.

Originally known as Free Spirit, they toured extensively throughout the UK for a number of years, before retiring from live performance in order to concentrate on writing and recording new material at their studio in Devon. Their preferred style of music tends to focus on strong, attractive melodies and thoughtful, poetic lyrics.

The name Pigdragon derives from ancient Chinese astrology, according to which, Nigel was born in the year of the Pig, and Cyn in the year of the Dragon.

A pigdragon is also a sort of lucky charm or amulet, traditionally worn on a cord around the neck, to ward off evil spirits.
